SOCPA Sounds

There is a zone around Parliament, including Downing Street, where certain restrictions apply, covered by the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act (SOCPA).

In recent years the police have stopped Critical Mass riders from playing their sound systems within the SOCPA zone, under threat of prosecution, while continuing to allow drivers to play their sounds unimpeded. During these warnings the riders with the sound systems were sometimes videoed by the police.

Here is a collection of evidence about this ban on bicycle sound systems.
